Personal papers of David Thayer, Massachusetts physician, abolitionist, and legislator. Includes correspondence; deeds of land transactions in Braintree, Mass.; genealogical notes on Thayer family members; a fire insurance policy of Nathaniel E. Thayer (1833); wills of Abiel Harris and William Penniman; a ms. poem; and a marriage application of Thomas Emmons and Sarah Thayer (90 and 67 years old respectively). Correspondence includes three Civil War letters by Thayer's nephews Levi Bunker and Alfred E. Parker (written from Yorktown, Staten Island, and the Lower Potomac); and a letter to Thayer from Samuel C. Cobb, mayor of Boston.
